Hello all I am new here and would be very greatful for any help.
I have an early 1960's Gladstron? with a AQ110 (early design with dual carbs on top) Volvo Penta Engine. I was wondering how it get sea water into the cooling system? I see a line leading from the water pump? to the exaust to exit the engine. But to save my life I can't find anywhere where it sucks up new sea water into the cooling system? I looked all around the outdrive area and can't see anything that look remotly close to an inlet to the cooling system, nor can I see any hoses like the exit one to the exaust?

Please help it would mean alot.

Thanks, Scott!!!

Never hve heard of a 110, but some of the 100 drives used a seperate through hull pick up.

Yeah a AQ110 is just a little newer and a step up from an AQ100. The AQ110 was made between 1963-1966. It puts out 110HP.

Anyways, about your remark where exactly is the area you were talking about where water is re sucked into the cooling system from the sea water?

Thanks, Scott:)

thanks for the reply. I looked at that site the other day. But it does not state where it sucks up the sea water from? Also mine has the 100 drive unit. I know the old water get pumped into the exaust and out the back. there is a hose that leads near the end of the exaust, and that hose come directly off the water pump. I am wondering if it pulls it from an area right by where the exaust pours out?

What do you guys think?

Thanks, Scott:)

Have you been to this website? Found info about your drivetrain? There's some good stuff in there.:)

You should be able to follow the incoming hose at the raw water pump to where the raw water is coming through the hull.

What outdrive do you have? 100? 200?
