Need help , wire question

just freshened up the top end of my 1995 gen v, 454 mag efi and have a wire I cant figure out. I haven't cut open the harness to trace it and trying to read a schematic blows my mind, lol . thought maybe you guys might know where it goes. its a single wire that looks grey to me and comes out of the harness at the electrical box.

hmmm I think that wire is not supposed to be hooked to anything. maybe a tach lead for timing purposes?

The same wire is on mine and is not used. I think it is used with either twin engine install or velvet drive. Hope someone else will come along and advise because I would like to know also
