need help what size and year is this evinrude

the tag says 50162 made in peterbrough ontario canada has decompession levers on head, it has pressurized fuel tank, electric start, plus pull start, single carb, all i can think of need more info let me know thanks in advance

Well it is not a '58 like you thought, the cowl isnt anyways. Im thinking it is a '57.

Where are you getting the model number from? The ID tagt hat you can see in pic 4? Are you sure you are reading beside model number? What about the welch plug on the powerhead, have you looked there?

yes that is where im getting the model number from the tag in pic 4 i look over the power head but didnt find anything?

ok just went out and checked one welch plug say 50162 /25930 same as the tag says serial number 25930 model number 50162

58 and 56 had EVINRUDE as a decal, yours has the removable script like the 57. That is the cowl anyways

Im thinking your model number is 25930

EDIT: Posted at the same time, that makes it a 1957 35hp like I thought

could be hightrim i just check the serial number it says 57 evinrude 35hp so i guess wen i order parts i will order for 57 35hp what are these engines like? worth while putting a little money into? how much would it be worth to sell? i have gas tank wiring and controls

Yep, looks like a '57 Big Twin Electric to me. Nice old motors. Just picked up a '57 Big Twin last week, myself. Yours looks a lot like mine. They put the chrome stuff on the Larks, here in Amerca.

Zeph is your motor missing the Script trim so someone put a decal on it? I thought, and I may be wrong, that the '57's all had the removable Script trim on them? All of mine do, and the ones I have seen.

Here is the '57 Standard Model....like yours, Im just wondering if your Evinrude insignia is a removable script or a decal
