need help to identfy 230 hp Mercruiser

Hello it has been awhile since I been on here I just picked up a 1985 Chaparral bow rider with a inboard 230 hp Mercruiser in it serial # A366565 I would like to change plugs and wires for this motor but not sure I have all the info for this motor was hoping someone could break it down for me been told it is a 305 chevy not sure the liters of it though any help would be great thanks Mike

It's an 85 5.0L 230HP MIE Inboard model number 02301345

great thank you what does MIE stand for and were did you get the model number number from

MIE = Mercruiser Inboard Engine

model numbers are located on a valve cover tag or flame arrestor cover, otherwise the serial number lookup on midas is how locate model

Thanks I figured I could but was not sure if they were any difference between the marine and auto wires

Some carry marine parts. Some don't. Be careful what you change to automotive.
Plug wires are generally a lot longer than automotive.
