NEED HELP replacing doghouse / building sun deck, engine hatch with bench seat

I need to / want to replace the doghouse / engine cover and adjustable side seats on my 88 Thompson - 19' runabout with an updated sun deck / engine hatch and bench seat.

I am very carpenter handy but have not been able to find any construction plans and/or guidelines.

Does anyone have any suggested readings or plans on how to build this?

I have actually already torn down to do the same on my Chaparral... I will be framing it out and making a full engine compartment with a 38*80 sun pad...

I am not sure what you mean by a 38*80 sun pad is; but, are you building this from plans (if so where can I find a set?) or from experience?

The concern I have is building something that will be easy to upholster and not cause me to have to make changes in order to upholster, or cost me a fortune to do so because I made it difficult for the upholstery shop to cover.
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Sorry, what I am doing is from scratch, to suit my taste..

38*80 is the approximate dimmensions of the pad itself, rectangular full width of the stern of the boat..

I am building it rectangle, and working out how I want to finish it with the seat back, basic to where the top of the seat and the top of the sun pad are even, more complex to where the sun pad front edge is even with the front of the seat back, or most complex where the sun pad actually has part or all of the seat back attached to it.

I am looking at lots of pictures (my Chaparral origionally had jusmp seats, but bench with basic sun pad setup was an option, new Formulas have the more complex setup, and new Pachangas have the most complex sun pad setup where the entire bench seat back is part of the sun pad, and lifts up when the pad is opened..

I should be starting construction in the next couple of weeks, with glasswork and Upholstery to follow...
