Unless you store your motor inside the house, you might want to consider a couple of other things:<br /><br />First the powerhead is subjected to a lot of temperature changes during storage which can result in condensation, especially inside the motor cover. I make sure that all of the moving parts are greased, coat exposed eletrical connections with liquid tape, and finally spray the whole powerhead with a light coat of corrosion protection.<br /> <br />I've been most satified with LubriMatics Corrosion Pro for the moving parts, and with Penzoil's Marine Corrosion Protectant spray for doing the whole powerhead, although I've used WD40 in the past. This seems to keep the old powerhead looking good. <br /><br />Don't remember where I picked up the habit, but I wipe the painted aluminum surfaces with an oiled rag.<br /><br />Secondly, if you haven't already put a zinc anode on your outboard, this might be a good time to think about doing it.
