Need Help:Install Fuel Gauge

Does anyone know how, or have instructions/schematic's to install fuel gauge into 1998 19.4' Cobia boat with a 2000 150 Johnson Outboard Motor. Have gauge but can't remember how to install.:confused:

Appreciate all helpful information.:)

Is this the oem / replacement or an aftermarket like Teleflex?

Most gauges have a connection that goes to the fuel tank, and a +12 connection, plus the lighting, but that should be obvious.

Exactly what problem are you having installing the gauge?

The gauge has the following connections:

1) +12 volts -- this connection must be active only when the key is on. This connection can come from the +12V connection on any of the other gauges (Tach, trim, etc).

2) Ground -- this connection can also come from the ground connection on any of the other gauges.

3) Light -- this connection can also come from the light connection on any of the other gauges.

4) Sender -- This connection comes from the fuel level sender in the fuel tank.

5) Sender Ground -- This connection goes to the negative terminal on the battery or to any other ground connection in the wiring harness.
