I have in my possession a 1957 boat, someone told me it is a Texas Maid someone else said it was a Razorback and then a few weeks ago a friend said it was a Duracraft. There are no identifying tags on this boat, only a stamp in the aluminum trim on the back of the boat that reads 1-06-1957 (131).
If there are any antique boat collectors out there who could help me I would sure appreciate it.
The boat is all aluminum, has tail fins, walk thru between front seats, has wooden bench seat in the back and wood seats in the front. There are storage compartments in the back of the front seat.
If you would like to see pictures I can email them to you.
thanks, tommy58

Hi Tommy,

All aluminum? Fins? Bench seats? Sounds like you have something very special indeed! (I was going to tell you that it's worthless and then offer you $50, but I kept drooling on the keyboard...) No, me thinks you have something there. Depending on condition, not only are they at least modestly collectible, but also great boats to boot. (My wife and I have a 1957 15' Starcraft Speed Queen, and we wouldn't sell it for all the world.)

As for the boat, in fact, it could be any number of manufacturers... We'll need to see some pictures. To make that happen, use a free hosting service like Flickr or Photobucket, and then place the "IMG" tag into your post here... Once you get the hang of it, it's easy.

Also check out "Fiberglassics" and "The classic Boathouse" Web sites...

Can't wait to see...

Alan

Hi Tommy,

I sent an email to the address you suggested in PM... Also, I've been looking in the gallery of www.theclassicboathouse.com.

I think that we can figure this out...

Update:

I just went thru the classic boathouse gallery, and here's what I could find for tinnies with fins:

* Crestliner Jet Streak 1959
* Verhoef Nixy
* Duracraft Supreme 1958
* Feathercraft Clipper 1957
* Lonestar hardtop 1958
* Lonestar runabout 1957
* Lonestar runabout 1958
* Lonestar runabout 1959
* Meyers 1956
* Texas Maid 1957
* Texas Maid 1961
* Texas Maid 1961 Falcon

Does the boat have a fiberglass top or cap?
