You may want to look at your deck drains. I have 6 deck drains on my boat. I regularly hose down the deck, mop up etc. The water runs out the drains, not into the bilge.
In fact, there are steps that lead down to the cabin area, and each step has a drain that empties out the side.
Dragging 7 grand kids, and their friends, around the lake on tubes, ski's and fishing gets the deck soaked!
Please don't take my post the wrong way. I'm merely trying to share some insights.
In my experience, ANY part of the boat that traps water cannot be good, regardless of make.
