I have sold and installed close to several hundred WSM pistons as dealer for em. Only had one that failed due to MFG defect as locater pin came out.
last summer, on 2 different sets of 2 cyl looper pistons, the rings were sticking quite badly. no, i know the top ring has a 7 degree taper so those werent mixed up or upside down. the ring grooves were cleaned, so it was a defect. sent back twice. on the 3rd set, rings were nice and loose. did sand the grooves lightly on the first 2 sets wich helped some, just wasnt comfortable with them still. seller was great, but never had those issues with Vertex.
