Need a new Battery for 24V System

HI All,

I have a 2021 boat that came with a 24v trolling system. One of the batteries have crapped out and I need to replace it. What I currently have is a
srm-27
CCA 600
RC 160

Currently I cant find that battery near me in stock (shocker) What I can find is another battery in the same size but slightly higher CCA840 and RC180

Could I use that battery with the other "good battery" that has slightly lower CCA/RC ?

You need deep cycle batteries to run trolling motors. The higher CCA and RH numbers point to a marine starting battery.
The number that matters is the AH (amp hour) rating

While your at it I would have the other battery load tested. The SRM 27 is a pretty robust battery. I would be concerns the other one is compromised as well

You use two dissimilar 12 volt batteries in a 24 volt system but performance will be limited to the capacity of the smaller of the two batteries. Likewise, if you installed a battery with higher capacity than the old one, performance will be limited to that of the smaller of the two batteries. Smaller and larger do not refer to the physical size of the battery. It refers to the actual current capacity (amp-hour and reserve capacity or RC) rating of the batteries.

Yes I have load tested the other battery and seems to be fine. I have hooked everything back together and trolling motor seems to be working just fine now... I am keeping an eye out for the other battery if it starts acting up

It is highly recomended to replace paired batteries as a pair only, never individually. Most mfgrs will void their warranty if a new battery is connected to a used battery. If your older battery developes a short or other issue, it will kill your new battery. Batteries do not charge well unless the two are paired and identical in amp hours and capacity. Your safest bet would be to replace the pair and use the single battery for accessories or other purpose....no one ever said boating was a cheap hobby!!!!!
