I am very surprised that no one had answered this simple question for you, your boat is setup with two batteries, more then likely on a perko switch, the switch is to help dummies like me that try to get to much out of their batteries, when you start the boat, and are driving the boat, leave the switch on both and/or all, when you stop to fish or just running a trolling motor, switch it to 1 or 2, it depends on which one is your deep cycle batt, save you starting batt to start your boat, never turn the switch with the boat running, you might cause damage, hope this helps
