Hi all. I have a 1993 Wellcraft Excel 20 sx, with a Volvo Penta 430B 4.3 v-6

It has a 2v Rochester carb. I tore it down, cleaned it up real good and now its time to put her back together.

Here's my question. In the Accelerator Pump well, there is a notch leading off to the right at the bottom of the accel pump bowl. Is this groove, or notch, where the ball goes for a check valve? Does it just sit there, what does it do? I didn't pay enough attention tearing it down, and the exploded diagram doesn't really show it well.

HELP

Thanks for your time
Bob

I found this thread while searching for Rochester Carb info. He goes through a step by step process of rebuilding a carb after teardown. It requires you to join the group, if you want to see the photos but it looks like it might be worth signing up.
