Need a boat cover that covers the sides of boat down to waterline

I need a cover for my 2004 SeaRay 185 Sport IO. Our new garage is too small so unfortunately I need to store the boat outside at a public storage. Most covers I see only cover the top 6" of the sides of the boat. Here in FL the sun fades things quickly so I would like to cover down farther to protect the blue sides of my boat. I have cockpit covers with poles so this really is a 2nd cover to protect the existing covers.

Thanks

Since there are no snaps low on the sides to hold a canvass or plastic tarp cover, the only option I can think of is to shrinkwrap the boat.

You will either need to order a custom cover or by an over sized generic cover and modify it to fit your needs. I will add that covering down to the water line is not a very good idea. When the cover gets wet, and it will, you will have all sorts of problems with trapped moisture that will be counterproductive. As soon as moisture gets trapped between the two covers, all sorts of growth is going to occur on your good covers.

I don't know what options you have, but a covered lift or canopy with sidewalls over your boat is definitely a better option.

I made a cover for my brother's boat with an optional skirt that snapped onto the normal cover. It went down to the trailer frame.

For my boat, I have a blue section that goes down about a foot from the rub rail. When I made the cover for it, I just made it go down past it.

Go talk to some canvas guys.

You will probably have to have one made. I haven't seen too many factory covers that cover the side also. I looked for one a few years back and even thought about making my own skirting with some Sunbrella fabric, never did though.

Not very good pictures but this is what I was making. I was not done with it yet. Would be VERY expensive. Used Sunbrella. There were snaps under the main cover that were at all the tie downs so the snaps would never touch the boat

A nice custom job like the pic above or go with a large plastic tarp and some bungee cords. Then some air would still get under there. Like mentioned above, a large full material boat cover over your normal covers will end up with both of them rotted.

IMHO you're barking up the wrong tree.... For less than a custom cover you can put up a metal carport that will shade the boat and protect it from 90% of the weather.

If you have room for a carport. That would be a "no go" where I live.
