Thats what I originally thought to but no transducer mounted to as* end of the boat..
Climb under the dash and trace the wires. Transducers don't have to be transom mounted.
Ya that's my next plan I figured I'd do that this afternoon. I was just thinking about it at work and figured maybe someone knows something I dont on this one. haha. Either way I'll probably pull it off. A large screen in that location will block 2 or 3 gauges at least. Just going to replace with small circular recessed console depth finder.
Whatever floats your boat, but personally I find the digital gauges useless. Having a "picture" of the bottom and how it is trending is what I require.
Would this style transducer even work laying in the bilge? It seems to me it should have been mounted outside on the transom.
Glued to a single hull bottom, or contained within a box filled with fluid it would work.
All hummingbird use this style that you are aware of?
A lot of the Humminbird's look similar but some have different features.
No tape marks on it so idk what they were doing with it. Maybe just nervous to drill through the transom? Idk
