All the best with it. I will likely see it on the news reports. Hope not to be part of it here though !!!!

Re: nasty storm for the atlantic north east

hope it goes far to the east or a bit west. looks now like the new england states will get it hard, then the atlantic provinces are looking at 40-60cm and blizzard conditions. we've been spoiled here for the last few "non winters", guess its back to normal! lol

Looks like a doosey!!!! saying 2-3" per hour, and possible 2 to 3 feet sometime between Friday and Saturday!

I will be taking Friday off, and can't be happier I bought a snow blower last year!!

get your beer and wine ... I mean bread and milk... actually we do have to get milk since we have a 2-year old at home

The weather channel reporter just said "make sure you have supplies in your car if you have to drive in the storm.... food.... water.... and toilet paper... just in case ! :D :D

All kidding aside, all you other New Englanders on here be safe, here we may loose power from this, there's going to be strong winds and wet heavy snow, the kind that likes to weight branches down and snap them.

Looks like I'll be tuning up the snow blower tonight. I 'was' going to head to Cape Cod on Friday night for some work on the house and boat, but it looks like that will have to wait.

I bet at my office, they will tell people to work from home on Friday . . . still vivid memories of folks getting trapped on I-95 in the Boston - Providence area for hours during the evening commute. I recall that it took me 6 hours for a drive that normally took under and hour.

It's winter north of the M-D line what did you expect sunny and 92? I have lived through storms such as this and lived, many people just hate how they can't go to the mall deal with it.

... memories. Sigh. :D

Y'all be careful up there. If possible, ship a few flakes our way. Not quite enough white this year in TN.

Though she's off by a few days, looks like Mother Nature is throwing a 35th anniversary party for the infamous Blizzard of '78....

Good luck everybody!!!

Re: nasty storm for the atlantic north east

My company just called off work for tomorrow. So, I'll be fixing the snow blower in the morning, rather than tonight. Flakes are supposed to be flying around mid-day.

There is also talk about cars lined up just to get to the grocery stores . . . So, according to this indicator, it may not be the worst storm ???

I was on the road today and saw a large herd of deer feeding at about 1 PM and later on I saw this flock of turkeys ...... all good indicators that we have a good storm coming!

Mine didn't!!!
42 mile commute (one way) involving 93, 128, and the Pike... Yee Haaa! :D

Love the pic BTW, so true!
Regardless of what that indicator says, I bet all the packies will be mobed too...

Yeah...
Heard that one before too...
Despite the fact that my employer is a contractor working for the state, even when the Governor says "all non-essentials state employees stay home", we're still expected to be at work (by the state).... My job don't involve driving a plow truck, or emergency response of any kind either (IMHO, we're non-essential). But we're expected to be there!... And that's about all I can say about that on an open forum...;)

Sometimes you just have to man up for your own (and your families) well being, and do what you think is right. Not what your employer says.

Re: nasty storm for the atlantic north east

I saw a weather report that said it will be a confluence of two storms.

I'm in the middle of one of the two here in Milwaukee and, yeah, it's been snowing since last night. I don't envy you.
