Time for the first race of the Eliminator round. We are down to 8 drivers after cutting the Chase list in half - Only Logano, Edwards, Gordon, Busch41, Keso, Truex Jr., Harvick and Busch18 remain. As in the prior two stages, if one wins, he moves on to the next stage, in this case, the finale in Homestead

We also have Trucks going at it this week end, while X-Men are back at Texas. From MRN, the schedule;

43 on the entry list, so everybody races. Even Jebbie Burton.

Weather - Who knows? Sunday could be soggy.

News and Notes
  • Hatvick made it through the Nascar post-race scrutiny penalty free. The only "Happy" driver is Happy.
  • Nascar finally released the 2016 schedule. Now Dale Jr. can plan his wedding. Also it looks like the tentative TV/cable mix is the same this year. :blue:
  • Musical chairs - Justin Algaier will replace David Regan in JRM's XFINITY #7. Algaier was out in the cold when HScott picked up Bowyer for a Cup ride next year. Also Biffle has a new crew chief, Brian Pattie is coming over from MWE following the demise of MWR,
  • Talladega warnings issued - 4 cars were hit with warnings for flunking pre-race inspection multiple times. Johnson, Hornish, Whitt and Cassill.
  • Jed Jarrett is the honorary pace car driver this weekend. It's the first time he has been handed the keys to a Cup pace car.
  • TV ratings - Good news/Bad news. Ratings were the highest of the last six races, but lower than last year when the race aired on ESPN.

Our FL weekly winner was Jip with his third :first: of the year. He gave QC fits and only won by 2 1/2 poinrs. Congrats, Jip
Overall leader FlaCowboy picked up some points over 64osby, 64 of 'em. His lead is now 243 points and we're headed to crunch time.

Y'all make your changes to close in on FlaCowboy. All these alliances make this sound like Survivor.

Your friend, Humpty

Nice job Humpty. :whoo:

Congrats Jip.

At least I didn't use three digits in my name. ;)

Now would be a good time to have another "Kenseth" race, :drama: :spy: FC is pulling away.:bolt:

That's funny and Humpty didn't mean to do it that way.

Martinsville is a good track to take out some frustration. As long as my team members aren't on the target list. Oops - Harvick.

Well :censored:, Logano qualified on the pole at Martinsville. The rest of the top 12 are Truex, Jr., Allmendinger, McMurray, Gordon, Busch, Newman, Almirola, Larrson, Hamlin, Keselowski, and Harvick.

With only 43 entrants, no one is going home.

We were able to get a second week of sponsorship with Dawn this week. Hopefully we don't wear the tires down too far.

In addition we did some quick mid week testing with the help of a legend. http://www.racecar-engineering.com/articles/nascar/the-secrets-of-laurel-hill/

We found a couple of quirks in our race set up.

Confidence in our team and cars is running extremely high this week.

No official deals with other team have been made, but there might be a few un-official ones.

Did you know Cowboy has an Immunity Idol squirreled away? I didn't think so. It could be

They are circling the track on yellow laps while pit road is dried. Does that mean FC is getting lap leader points from Logano?

Maybe it's not raining, but they were saying drivers were reporting drops on the windshields. What do I know?

If he has patience, with the way they're hitting the wall and going to the garage, he'll be in front soon. If he misses the spinners. LOL

10 cautions and not to halfway.

Half the Penske cars got smushed. Logano is still leading during the caution.
