After opening the Chase at Chicago last week, we're moving to New Hampshire for the second Challenger race. Trucks are running with the Big Boys at NHMS, while X-Men are racing in Kentucky.
From MRN the New Hampshire and Kentucky schedules;
We have 44 entries fir the Cup race. Wise is on the bubble. He must qualify on speed and if Q-ing is cancelled - Home he goes.
The weather forecast is good, no rain Friday through Sunday. That's good,
In My Opinion

After Harvick and his crew messed up in Chicago by not coming to fix a tire rub following a minor bang and finally wrecking when the tire blew out, he is stuck in a big points hole and is dead last. That was until Nascar gave the Bowyer and the #15 crew a death penalty - 25 points for having a track bar adjustable by the driver in turns. The adjustment is supposed to be only adjustable on the straightaways. This was found during the first practice inspection and before Bowyer turned a wheel on the track. The #15 crew chief was fined $75K and suspended for 3 races, while the 25 owners points were also deducted.
Let's look at some other penalties levied last week. Danica's #10 crew modified the right quarter panel during pre-qualifying inspection. That's kinda cheeky and only probations were handed out. The side skirts on Busch's #18 were modified after pre-race inspection, once again only probations were issued. The XFINITY ride of Kyle Busch was found to be low on all four corners after his X-Men win. His crew chief got hit with a $12.5K fine and probation, while Gibbs lost 15 owner points.
Something is wrong with the way Nascar issues inspection penalties Three cars last weekend made unauthorized changes after and/or during inspection or competing (#54- X-Men) and hands were slapped. The #15 failed an inspection before making any laps and was hit hard.. What is the purpose of inspection if it isn't to identify broken or stretched rules? And the timing of inspection failures need to be considered as well, especially if the car went on-track. All of these infractions were to improve handling and one resulted in a win. When is Nascar going to do the right thing and take a win away from a caught winning cheater? I have to say caught because all crew chiefs test/push/bend the rules.

New and Notes
- MWR is appealing the #15 penalty. The appeal will be heard Wednesday, next week.
- Dale Jr. will be calling some XFINITY races on Fox next year, like Gordon, Keso, Harvick, Bowyer and Danica. Dale said "I don't know if it's a career path for me -- it just depends -- or whether I even have any talent in the booth.". Wonder if he's thinking about retiring in the not too distant future. Dale has brought up life after racing several times this year. mmmmm
- Still no 2016 Cup schedule. Come on Nascar! Dale Jr. needs the schedule so he and his soon to be bride can set a date,
- For only the fifth time since the 43 car field rule was started in 1998, all 43 cars finished a race. Harvick getting back on track late in the race allowed the streak (?) to continue.
- Nascar is meeting with drivers about the 2016 Rules Package. One thing is the Low Downforce Aero setup will be used on all 1.5 mile superspeedways. Discussions are ongoing about including other non-superspeedway tracks.
- No problem with Nascar for Harvick getting physical with Johnson after the Chicago race. Also after further review, no problem with Gordon's restart on lap 144, very close to jumping but still legal.
- Tv ratings - What TV ratings? Third lowest of the season and the lowest Sunday race this year.

FlaCowboy won his eighth race. Eight of these babies :first: on that creaking, groaning mantle. That's if some aren't door stops now. Congrats to our iboats gaucho.
By winning the week, Cowboy also jacked his overall lead up to a little over 350 points. Things ain't lookin' so good for the rest of us. Only 9 races left.
