Nascar Race #11 - Toto 400 From Kansas - Saturday Night

This weekend's race should be a Powder Puff Derby compared to Dega. There is even a chance that more than one car will be undamaged, unlike last week when only the race winner came through unscathed. We'll have Trucks and Cup on Friday and Saturday nights, with the X-Men sitting this week, still licking their wounds from Talladega, From MRN, the schedule for Kansas;



40 teams on the entry list this week, so all will qualify. Weather could be an issue, Today for the Truck practices, it's fine. Friday and Saturday could be a bit wet, especially for the Cup race.

News and Notes

• Kind of a slow week. but as usual, some warnings from last week. 3 got tagged and JJ will 15 minutes of practice time.
• Nascar say as many as 10 as in the running to replace Sprint as the Cup series sponsor.
• Watkins Glen has finished repaving. Talk about adding the "Boot" for Cup, which would add 4 turns, up from 7.
• CMT is showing a Nascar history based 3 show series starting this Sunday. Dale Jr. is the producer. Consult your TV listings for NASCAR: The Rise Of American Speed.
• TV ratings for Talladega were about the same as last year and down from 2014.

Trackchick Stars is still leading the overall, but lost a little at Dega.​

Qualifying for tomorrow evenings Cup race is over.

Truex is on the pole with Kenseth starting 2nd and Hamlin, Busch41, Keselowski, Shrubby, Blaney, Newman, Stenhouse, Bayne, Menard, and Edwards brings up the rear. 40 entries, so all made the race.

Trucks kick off at 8:30 Eastern, about 30 minutes from now.

Byron, a rookie, won the Truck race, I watched on line and the 20 minute caution clack is stupid. Since the beginning of the season, the 20 minute clock has been used 4 times, twice in tonight's race.

With 46 laps left the clock expired and after the yellow flew a guy blew a tire and Nascar wouldn't open the pits. Because the teams were waiting for the upcoming caution, they were stretching gas and when the pits were closed they started running out. The cars were close to the pit road entrance and the pits were kept closed. It could be called a cluster!

Fox Sucky 1 is showing the Nats/Cubs game. The pre-race show s on Fox Business, for cryin' out loud! I guess they don't care about Nascar either.
