Suarez wins Heat #2. No cautions so far except the 2 heat flags. Amazing!

This may end up being a fuel mileage race. Many are saying they're 2 laps short, but are gonna try to stretch. Should a fun few last laps if a caution doesn't come out.

Keso get a penalty for driving through too many pit boxes on his splash and dash.

We've been talking about Kasey Kahne and his future at Hendrick. Well, he has none.

He was released and will finish the season in the #5. No name to fill the seat yet.

And the game of musical race cars continues!

My thoughts are Kurt or Matt but think Hendrick may have had enough of one Busch brother and may not be interested in another Busch in their cars so Matt? I don't think their Nationwide guys are ready yet and Kurt and Matt are the 2 best available. They need a veteran to run 1 or 2 years till the up and comers are ready IMO.Matt would fit that perfectly but the timing seems a little coincidental with SHR just announcing a few days ago that Kurt is out. That makes me wonder about Kurt?

If I was betting man, some of the names that came up for the #88 are the most likely before Bowman got the nod. Hendrick probably has a youngster or two in the mix already. Bear in mind I've been wrong a time or two. Sponsorship possibilities are still one of the most important assets a new driver can bring.

Wow - justkiddin 5 won for the 4th time after a 50 point win at The Glen. This is getting old :D, but congrats JK5. slurpee11.png

Michigan has Cup and Trucks coming up and X-Men are on the Mid-Ohio road course.

From MRN about his driving. 10 Truck and X-Men wins in 2 years isn't too shabby. Byron was one of the young guns mentioned to take over the 88 and he's already in the Hendrick stable driving X-Races for JRM.

Byron won seven times in the Camping World Truck Series last year driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. So far in 2017, he has Xfinity Series victories at Iowa, Daytona and Indianapolis. He would join fellow newcomer Alex Bowman, who takes the team?s No. 88 ride for the retiring Dale Earnhardt Jr., and holdovers Jimmie Johnson and Chase Elliott in the four-car Hendrick stable.

wow. might be a little early but what do i know. they say kyle larson came up a year too soon and while he had growing pains he isn't too bad now :). i was thinking kasey may end up in the #41? him and Tony are good buddies. i guess it isn't a done deal with kurt but not sounding good for him and SHR after this year. don't forget, we have a vacancy in the #77 too if they can get sponsorship. who might go there?

Personally, I think it is to soon for Byron, how many times have we seen it in the past. Elliot is going okay, Daniel is doing great, I think he is one that is going to step up, but when you move through the ranks so quick, it plays with your head, and we all seen very talented youngsters rocket to the top to quick and just die when they get to the cup series., but Rick has a seat to fill, who will it be? It will be interesting to see.

The same things were said about The Twerp. No one knows how new guys will work out until they get the seat.
