Chase Race 6 at Talladega kicks off a little after 2PM Eastern today. On the pole Aric Almirola, second is an iboats favorite of some of us - Jeff Burton. Rounding out the top five starting spots are Ambrose, Truex Jr. and Edwards. First practice time set the field due to qualifying rainout.

Our least favorite Chaser, if I may be so presumptuous, The Shuttlecock Kid - is starting in 27th. I'm sure he's gonna be charging to the front, pushing fellow racers out of the way, while declaring he has more class in his little finger than the rest of the field. Hurruph! <- That's an old style way of saying "Yeah, right".

Let's go racing, boys!

Surprised to see Burton starting up front. Even tho he does well at 'Dega for most of the race, he's never been known as a good qualifier anywhere..... At these plate races where you start means nothing. Although, proud of Jeff for being on the front row. I would really like him to grit his teeth for the remainder of the season and maybe pull off a win since he knows he may be done for 2014..... I know drivers in the same situation tend to motivate them.......

Since the Vikes don't play until tomorrow nite, I'll watch the race and wont be flipping very much.......

Go Jeff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #31!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited your thread title, GA. What's a talldega??????????? I suppose and over-sized dega....... :)

;) Uh, Musky, Jeff got front row because Qualifying was rained out and he had the 2nd fastest time in 1st practice. I am guessing he caught a draft and pulled up. That's why the lineup is so jumbled up.

I am going dark as I'm probably not watching until later tonight :(

I heard something got rained out. I guess I thought it was practice. Well that explains things. That's ok, will still be good to see him up front at the drop of the flag......

Who's next to "keep one eye on GA"? 'Speck and me had our turn....... Wont be QC, he's going in the dark...

Like I'm one to worry about - A missing quote and a misspell. I'm bad! :)

The qualifying was rained out, so first practice speeds were used to set the order. Almirola and Burton just happened to be the two fastest in that practice. 2nd practice they were 15th and 23rd, respectively. So they might not be in front for long. But you never know.

Jeez - 3 laps and caution, Raines blew his motor.

Are Gordon and Harvick doing the lay back?

Glad you agree......
At this track you could be the slowest during practice and still win the race...... Danica's best shot at winning, plate tracks.....

Roll Tide...
Oh wait...wrong sport :D

What these plate races need is a "radio sports announcer"...that way the race would sound more exciting

Last car with Tide was on it was Kvapil's car in 2006. Last appearance of Tide was during the Daytona 500 in 2012. Tide was used to clean after Montoya drove into a track drier.

So Yes - Roll Tide. :D

I gotta agree about the announcers. Pictures are worth a thousand words, but good descriptions make the picture more dynamic.

I'm having some kind of flashback!. I saw Terry Labonte leading the race. Am I dreaming? :confused

Next I'll see Rickie Bobby in the Wonder Bread car in front.

Dillon went for a flight in the 14! McMurray takes the checkers.
