V6 engines in N-Wide is a great idea. Aren't they basically prior generation hand-me-down Cup cars. I don't keep up with the "junior" series that much. The plans to limit Cup driver participation in what is touted as a developmental series is also good.

I'm all for booting Cup guys out of Nationwide. I understand why they do it.....$$$$$. Cup guys bring in more tv viewership and puts more butts in the stands. "Supposedly" the jr. drivers don't mind. When you get 4 Cup guys running NW you can about bet the Cup guys will take the first 3 spots and surely the top spot. Just a matter of which guy will win. And it's usually Shrubby. Not much excitement when you pretty much know the outcome before the race starts......

That's why I like trucks. You have has-been Cup guys that are trying hard to stay in a ride and up and comers bustin' there hump trying to move up into NW and eventually Cup. Plus the races are shorter............ :)

IMHP the real issue in Nationwide is how the big teams SO outspend the up and comers

Larson proves the skill level is there

I am not sure how the 5.0s are going to lower costs under the current plan. Longevity? Maybe. They will push within whatever envelope they give them.
You are correct which is why I said they need to go to roller cams (instead of the current flat tappet) and limit the "as installed" valve spring pressure. These 2 changes will greatly reduce the stress on the valvetrain which is where most failures occur.

I like trucks too, but last week's Nationwide, although won by a "cup" guy, it is pretty hard to say that Kyle Larson fits that label. It is the car owners that make these decisions on who drives. I wouldn't want to take that away. The points part of it has been fixed so that the Cup guys can't take the Championship.
