Caught this with my cast net on Belton Lake in Texas while trying to catch baitfish... no idea what it is.

I looked at Bowfins, that cant be it. The coloring is different, I havent seen any Bowfins with verticle black stripes on a green body, and this fish has 2 dorsal fins, bowfin has only 1 long dorsal.

Hope it ain't one of those @#$% Snakehead Fish that folks are talkin' about invading our waters in the USA!...

looks like a Logperch, about as big as they get.
