My boat has a 2009 Mercruiser 5.0 MPI with a Bravo 3 outdrive. While in the bilge today trouble shooting a overheating issue, I found this hard plastic tubing in the bilge. Its about 2 feet long and maybe a 1/4 tubing size. I'm wondering if it belongs of if perhaps it was something left behind from the engine oil and cooling system service recently?

PS I still cant upload images.

If the hard plastic tubing is a yellowish color that would be Tygon tubing. It's used for fuel pump over flow to breather/ air intake, or can be used for reservoir over flow with closed cooling system

Yes, pics still not working

There is a hose that is attached to the flywheel housing. Its purpose is to drain water from inside the housing when the engine is running and protect the starter drive. There is a hole in the housing at the bottom. Usually they are on the starboard side of the housing. A long as water never gets high in the bilge do not worry about it.

Sometimes I wish water would run very high in the bilge if you know what I mean. :)
