Cool. I live in Chandler and am glueing up a Zodiac 310s, its my first. I found instructions for making a frame here, but it doesn't look like your homemade rig. Can you tell me about it? Also what are the top triangle covers on both sides of the transom? Also how do you adjust your trim tabs, manually? Ever make it out to Canyon Lake? That should cover it for now!!! :D hahaha

Yeah, that's the same type of frame, just configured a little differently. The options are limitless. Those triangle pieces are essentially worthless. They might prevent a little spray from coming up over the transom, or they might provide a wee bit of support for the tubes aft of the transom. Yeah, like I said, worthless. The trim tabs are "Smart Tabs" so they are self adjusting and don't need any attention after initial setup. I haven't had this boat on Canyon Lake, but I've been to Canyon many times on other boats. It's a neat place. My favorite local lake it Bartlett.

We were on Canyon Lake back in February 2005, there were some incredible rains that created many waterfalls. We will be in the Cottonwood/Sedona AZ area late October. Here are a couple of pics from Canyon Lake. See you in the fall.

Hola Drowned Rat :

Nice sib/engine configuration set-up , 3 recomnedations as I have passed through same experince :

1-Inflate all chambers evenly to 3.5 psi with a pressure gauge, by finger is a stupidity, you'll be off by about 1.0 psi thinking you got right recommended working pressure.

2-If you are experimenting water splash inside sib transom means you are having slight less full throttle speed and water drag against engine tail. Measure upper transom to lower transom end, if the distance is under 40 cm, let's say 37/38 cm, you need to raise your transom height a bit.

Tohatsu recommends a height between 1 to 5 cm from boat's bottom (transom to anticavitation plate. Best transom height for engine is around 40 cm, will better top speed with excellent boat overall performance.

Water level should pass slight under anticav plate once on plane, not good if against or over anticav plate, an indication you'll need to raise engine  40 kilometers/hour is the best speed to achieve with an 18 engine on calm waters, no wind with sib correctly inflated and propperly weight balanced, if looking for more speed try a 25/30 HP on back.

3.Try performing wot test to engine to see if prop is reaching max rpm at full throttle, factory recommendations for max speed.

If no water splashing inside, try points 1-3.

Happy Boating
