My V6 does not stop!

I have a 1984 150 hp OMC Seadrive. The engine runs quite well but it does not stop when I turn off the key so now I stop with the choke (drowning in fuel but starting very well next time). My rev. meter is also not working. Anyone have a clue where to start looking?

Check the connection from where you put the key in to the engine. I think the "cut" wire is brown (it is on mine) - you might find that's the problem.
