My cousin just sent me this photo of the town where we live. His place is on the right way on the bottom and my place is just below center on the far left. The town is Greig NY. Greig NY

That little 1/2 mile stretch of houses in the center of the picture is the actual villige.

Yeah onemorecast....i have traveled all over the usa working construction and alot of people dont realize how rural most of new york is.When i tell people i am from ny...they automaticly think ny city. I grew up in Ft.Covinton...north of Malone,right on the Quebec border.I will tell you i couldnt of asked for a better childhood growing up there.

OK that splaines it. (they say a picture is worth a thousand words)<br />In all of my short years here on planet Earth I have never met anyone who has said they were from NY or NY city. They always say Up State NY. I have even asked here on iboats a couple years ago with no answer.<br /><br />Pretty country OMC. Now I know why everyone has lied about what part of NY they were from! <br /><br />Like dtherrien said most people (like myself) think of NY as the Big Apple/sess pool <br />(sp) <br />Thats as pretty as any place in North America that I've been to.<br />Great pic! <br />Now I'm going back under my safe secure rock with a new picture of NY in my head!

Or maybe just Off the picture,..??.... <br /><br />I've been Living the Major Misconceptions of New York State,......For 30 Years,....<br />Born,+ raised in Old Town Maine,... Moved over here just North of OMC's place,......<br />People back home would Always ask "What's it Like in such a Big City ?"........<br />Well,... I'll tell ya,..... Jefferson, Lewis,+ St. Lawrence counties are Way Less Populated,+ Economically Depressed than Anywhere in the State of Maine,..............<br /><br />And,...... The 10 Years I spent Trucking, shore to shore,... I Never said I was from New York,......<br />I Always said I was a Maineiac,...... <br /><br />There's Alot of Beautiful Realestate in New York State,.........

Thats the river Flathead. It has small mouth bass,rock bass,bullheads,sunfish,perch,suckers,fall fish,brown trout,brook trout,rainbow trout,pickerel,northern pike,walleye,carp,eels and fresh water clams.There may be others but thats all I've caught. And my wife says "turtles"

Upstate NY and New England is some of the prettiest country I've ever seen. I was driving down the freeway in Maine and the sign said "Watch For Moose." I'd love to go back and just drive around. M.
