That usually gets them the horn and the one fingered salute.

Yeah, I used to do that, too. Then one day the guy stopped, got out, and shot me between the eyes. I don't do that anymore ...

ffft.... you guys oughta try it with a tired old mack r model, 200,000 lbs 14' wide.... top speed bout 58 (after a few miles of accelerating)... speed limit 70.... STILL have to slam the brakes on regularly to avoid killing the bozos..... in construction filling 1 3/4 of the 2 lanes and having a soccer mom in a minivan try to share the lane with ya....

Even better easing down a rural highway and some moron blows past the escorts (lit up like christmas) at 70 mph hugging the center line playing chicken... all you can do is slam on the brakes and just pray that they won't splatter themseves on the tracks of the dozer behind you.... saddest part is that this often happens several times a day

Re: My Pet Trailering Peeve.....

Several years ago my sister called me needing a tow. Her car broke down just across town. I only had a tow rope at the time. We were going ~25mph about a mile from home when some idiot pulled around us, and hit his brakes just to make the street that we were approaching. I had to hit my brakes to avoid hitting him. Boy was I hot. Took me long enough to take up the slack in the tow rope to watch the idiot turn in his driveway 2 houses from the corner.

Someone should build a remote controlled bilge pump. Maybe carry a couple of gallons of test tank water. Hit the remote button and the tailgater should get the message.

I was driving a hotshot truck with 2 limo,s on it. A man and woman pulled up beside the limo,s to look at them . We went about 5 miles before we caught up to traffic. I turned my signal on, but they stayed there beside my trailer. They were so involved in the limo,s that they didn't know I switched lanes until they hit the medium. When they caught back up to me the passed quickly. Lesson learned.

?In-a-hurry-Harry? ample time to clear the truck ?n trailer and go about his way, yet folks will overtake us at moderate speeds but slow down when they are exactly between the truck and trailer. Frequently, I will either speed up or slow down to get them clear....yet they still hang with me!!! Several times the only way I can get clear of these fools is to ?wag? the trailer tires onto the lane lines to get my message across.

Maybe the reason for the lollygaggers is the porn on the backseat DVD player?

But seriously, some guy going down I-10 down here got ticketed after a passerby complained to the FHP.

I watched a "squid" ( that's one of those sport motorcycle riding idiots in shorts and sneakers with no helmet ) get squirted really good with bilge water from a 24' fishing boat. "Squidly" was passing a bunch of people on the sidewalk here in town so he could get the jump on him at the light.

The light turned green before he finished as the truck moved forward, the bilge pump came on :D Instant karma :D

My peeve, those F***ing idiots on the interstates with their Prius' and other low horsepower cars.

I tow a 24' Pontoon boat with a '01 2500 Suburban. I like to set my cruise ( in tow mode ) about 3-4 miles over the speed limit to stay with most traffic and also to keep a decent head of steam for the hills.

These morons in the Prius with pass you going down the hills but slow to 50 mph in the 65 zone and won't get out of the passing lane.

My boat, suburban and gear probably weigh in excess of 10,000 lbs and would squish them like a bug. Don't they have a simple understanding of physics?

It's not that they don't understand Jeff, it's they don't care.
The state of mind is "yes as a matter of fact, I do own the road. I don't care if you are over 5 tons, I'm going to sit here in the hammer lane and hold up traffic because I am self absorbed and completely oblivious to the world around me."
