Re: My one and only gripe about winter

Once a week, every week. It is good for the car, makes it look good and keeps your blue pants blue. I have been told to shoot a little WD40 in the door vent holes to prevent rust from forming inside the door skin. I typically don't keep a vehicle long enough to know if that works or not.

LOL funny you should mention the "blue pants blue" part. My black heavy duty coat has white patches. Believe it or not, the drivers side is soooooo much worse.

I wanted to was the truck today, but we are getting more snow tomorow, couldnt do it these past few days, its just been toooooo cold.

I try to once a week.
I also use wd-40 in the inner fender wells.
Helps to keep the yuk stuff from sticking in there.

Re: My one and only gripe about winter

I don't wash it at all, because I always go crazy over every last little spot, only for it to rain 15 minutes later. I think I'm going to buy a pressure washer so I can spray it off like the do it yourself car washes.

Jeeps look better with a coat of mud anyway!

I do clean my wheels about once a week since I spent $800 on them not long ago. :D

LMAO- that truck doesnt even fit into the garage. Not to mention the half you cant see looks just as bad. The boat is flipped and on the side of the house for the winter.

That camper shell is only used in the winter. I feel it looks better without it. :)

Its not hot water.......its magis water. Changes the time to 4 months ago :D :D

LOL Pointer.......I think my gripe on that was the silliness of the law......I dont mind having to warm it up, or the cold for that matter......Plus that law applies to all seasons. :D :D :D

I'm reaching a bit I know, just trying to vindicate this as my only REAL gripe. lol

Re: My one and only gripe about winter

I stop washing my truck when the freezing temps hit. I only wash it during the winter when I can't stand the sight of it, and I use one of those brushless drive through jobs. Even then it only happens a few times during the winter. Like Z, I would go nuts at every speck because my rig is white, so I just give up. Easier that way....

Wash it? My truck has a good, thick, protective coat of road film. I wouldn't dare wash that off.

Re: My one and only gripe about winter

digi junky? :p :D :D

I hate that about winter, too, pony. I try to wash mine once a week. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out that way for me either. I won't wash it if the temp is below 15-20. Freezes up the doors beforw it dries.

I've never heard of the WD-40 trick either. I'll have to try that. Thanks, Spinner.

Re: My one and only gripe about winter

No doubt! I can't stand a filthy vehicle. During the winter we get road-salted to death here. I look after our local waterworks and I'm lucky enough to have a work truck that I'm suppose to take home in case of emergency 24/7/365. My Dodge... my baby (pic.) sits in the garage when it's yucky out.
Re: My one and only gripe about winter

I wash and wax fall and spring, or at least did when I had a vehicle worth worrying over.

Too cold in the winter, car washes are all closed and too much work dragging the hose out of storage.

My only gripe about winter is....well....winter.
enough said.

Re: My one and only gripe about winter

dd- I am with ya on the waxing.....I throw a wax in during the summer as well. I am pretty anal about that truck.

Most gas stations here are still open for washes no matter how cold it is. It can be a pain, but I usually like to get that salt off
