Re: My new Pontoon!

yes it was an ordeal....I'll never deal with progressive again. In the last 20+ years I've only had to make 1 claim (and that's with 2 houses, 3 cars, 3 boats, motorcycle, etc) and that was with my tractor several years back...State Farm was a breeze to deal with. After researching Progressive it's a wonder they still have any customers...low price = shaft!

Here are some pics of some of the damage they did...most of the damage is small holes from their feet that don't show up too well in the pics but they're everywhere...has to be completely recovered. A lot of the corners of the seats are torn, stuffing out of other places, and they ruined the bimini..holes all in it

Wow. That's a heck of a story. I am definitely going to reconsider my current insurance situation. I've had progressive for many years now but haven't had to make a claim. I made claims with state farm in the past and they were great. Had some "driving" problems about 13 years ago and after 3 claims in 9 months state farm dropped me. Maybe they'll take me back now. Glad to hear it all worked out for you in the end.

So the moral of the story is next time just tell them your boat was "vandalized". Just don't tell them by who. :) Make sure you remove the feathers first though.

Just kidding.;)

i had a problem with them once also. mechanical failure of drive shaft in inboard...key and slot were worn and it pulled out of the coupler. shaft wasn't repairable, same with prop. i called progressive to see if my insurance would cover any of the cost. they sent an adjuster out. there was no damage except to the shaft and prop. they said it wasn't covered but said i made a claim...the claim amount?...$0. they raised my premium by $500 and sent me a bill. i lit up a manager on the phone and had it all taken off. then i promptly switched insurance co's.
