Re: My new boat.

wow,what acool lookin boat!
just a couple barrels of elbow grease looks like all she needs :)
but i think i would still put a cover on her, your barn look like it has more than its share of out side lite in side!! :)

woosterken

Thanks, I have scrubed the hell out of it, i used a polisher and some polishing compound on it. Then i put two layers of wax. spring time im going to do the same thing to the hull. After running a polisher then waxing it by hand twice i was tired who knew 22ft of boat would be that much work.

dieselboy,

Where do you use the boat? I'm just up the road in Dorr. Nice to see someone on here that is local.

Really it just depends on what we are doing. If we are going to be playing on the water we go to Dumont, Miner or Eagle lake. Now if we are going fishing we go all over around here. I have been spending some time fishing Cloverdale lake which is attached to 3 other lakes by canals so you get a little variety.

Re: My new boat.

Nice classic looking boat, BTW. Didn't Viking get bought out by Chris Craft at some point? Do you know any history on Viking as a company?

I plan to check out Dumont and Miner lakes next year. They seem like they may be nice for spending a couple hours on the water. I hadn't ever heard of Eagle Lake or Cloverdale til you mentioned them. I assume the Eagle lake you are talking about is the one south of Allegan a little ways? Is Cloverdale they one over SE of Gun Lake?

I grew up on Gun Lake....I was spoiled. As far as lakes in the area, we get there the most. I'm mostly just into cruising. I don't fish and my kids are a little young to tube/ski/wakeboard. You should get out on Gun Lake when you get a chance. It is the biggest lake in the area and a very nice place to spend a day.

You are correct about the location of the lakes and Viking being bought out by Chris Craft. My friend just got a 19ft Chris Craft deck boat and the similarities are noticable. I have heard that Gun Lake is a very busy lake with lots of morons. (not that you are) My kids are small yet to but the wife and I like to play
