I have a Force 125 Hp (1251X7A) on my Bayliner Capri that runs like a charm outside of the water, however it won't start once I put it in the water. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions relating to this problem. <br />Luis
Welcome to iboats. You need to check your compression. You may not be getting enough compression to overcome the amount of force it takes to push exhaust out of the motor.

There are two reliefs on the back middle of the motor. There maybe a blockage there. Try flushing these out and see what happens. You could try staring the motor and quickly dunking into the water also. This is bad as the impeller will be run dry for a few seconds.
That X in the model number means it's an extra longshaft model? I don't believe there are extra-long Capri models. If that's the case, it takes a lot more to push that exhaust out the bottom. <br /><br />But your compression sounds fine. You'll probably have to play with the carb and timing settings until you get it to go. Carb settings adjusted on a hose are totally meaningless once you get it into the water.
