"My Kid" Bumper Stickers.

These bumper stickers have always made me curious, but this one, driven by a complete "blockhead"-cell phone in ear, kids hanging out windows, etc., got my dander up.<br /><br />This one read: "My kid just beat the crap out of <br />your honor student at: --------- high school."<br /><br />OK, so you are advertising the fact that you are an idiot and so are your children??<br /><br />Hmmm, not sure what to make of it?

That one has been around for years DJ. Some people think that in the interest of humor all is fair. Literally it is not funny at all.<br /><br />You would probably get a chuckle out of me if the first time I saw it was in a cartoon fashion after showing two or three legitimate "My Kid" bumper stickers before it.

QC,<br /><br />I know it has been around. This vehicle, this situation got me going. <br /><br />I can't wait to see people defend this.

I laughed a little the first time I saw it, but then I got to thinking...........The kids who work their butts off in school don't deserve to be mocked that way. Plus it makes it seem acceptable to beat up on the "smart" kids.

Ever wish you had the James Bond rocket launchers on the front of you vehicle at times? (POS seeking rockets), That would be one of those times.

Twin .50's would be more than sufficient.<br /><br />Yet, for the so called "parents" only. The children may still have some hope.

It symbolically represents the glorification of parents whose children that are on the football team as opposed to those who are on the chess team.....Might makes right....Right?....JK

Re: "My Kid" Bumper Stickers.

I really had always hated those My Kid Is Better Than Your Kid Because He Is An Honor Student bumper stickers, and chuckled at first when I saw the My Kid Beat Up You Kid stickers. Now the whole thing is irrelevant and not worth more than a few seconds thought process. It's right up there with those Calvin peeing on Ford/Chevy/Dodge/Whatever stickers...<br /><br />I know the parents were just proud of their kids accomplishments, but I always wondered how many of them actually had honor students. I saw a gazillion stickers, but just had this wierd feeling that if I contacted the schools, there would only be a few honor students...

Honor Roll is 3.0 and up, and sometimes 2.75 and up.........its not that difficult to do, thats prolly why you see so many. To me I dont think its bragging, and I see beating up an honor student and peeing on a truck emblem as different.........one is symbolic and not demeaning to the person, the other is as well but more closely ties itself to an inappropriate message.<br /><br />Sure some people could stand to be more thick- skinned than they are and see the joke behind the "beating up" stickers.........still not the right message.

That's another one that "bugs" me.<br /><br />I guess it's societal de-evolution! Our society has become infactuated, and displaying so, their privates.

Kinda along the same lines........ I had a sticker on my truck in high school. It said "Don't laugh, your daughters sitting next to me" One day my girlfiends father seen it. HE took a razor blade and removed it for me.

it's a bumper sticker... supposed to be a joke. i don't think the parent is putting the honor student down, but rather poking fun at the parent that feels the need to put the original sticker on their car. who actually uses bumper stickers anyway?

Re: "My Kid" Bumper Stickers.

I think mattttt nailed it. People that put up the "my kids beat up your honor student" are just poking fun at people that feel the need to advertise to everyone on the road that their kid made the honor roll. I smile every time I see one....and I was an honor student ;) , but I'd never let my mom put one of those bumper stickers on the car. Take a joke people, thats all its meant to be.
