I can't post a link to them because I might be breaking the rules on here ??

I think that's a really awesome idea Summer Fun. I bet people could adapt these to be mounted on pretty much anything they had on the stern that would be underwater when stationary. Like a swim platform support bracket or something like that. Can't wait for some pics of your idea in action!

The housings look good and it is a great idea. I'm more interested to know how halogen bulbs hold up to vibration and bumps. Anyone know?

Not very well I am afraid.
I had them on my other boat [Sold ] and NEVER blew a bulb !!! :).
Its pretty hard to hit waves or bumps on the NYS canal system, Where I mainly do my boating. :)

I'll be interested to see how they hold up. What is the base made out of? How is the cord sealed in the housing exactly?

I doubt they get that much vibration. The trim tabs are on the back of the hull and as such should be riding in water smoothed out by the boat. If there is much vibration there the hull is not in the water much.

I've been thinking about doing something like on my MFG's hull used primarily for fishing, It would be neat to net land a big fish without having to get the spotlight out, I know they have those floating lights but thats just another loose item to have to carry, would like a permenent mount underwater light to just light up around the boat for fishing.
