Not so much mesquite, Cedar burns like that. most of that country around Cross Plains is what I call scrub oak. so thick you cant walk through it. it is sand , costal bermuda, and scrub oak country. It all burns in this kind of weather.<br /> QC i would say these fires a verry simular to the ones that rage in Kaleforna when the Santa anas blow. they are fed by the hot dry winds. They have the fire alerts out again for Sunday, more hot dry wind. At least most countys in Tx. have banned fireworks this season. They even banned possession of fireworks. Callahan co. where Cross Plains is located has even banned welding. I dont know how they are going to rebuild the fences that were burnt up if they cant weld in the corner post.
