Well I had bought my son a 8" bazooka sub for his tuck a few years back and since then he has moved on to bigger subs. I thought I would surprise the wife and have the sub installed in the boat. So my buddy came over and jumped at the chance to install the sub..since he used to love doing electronics etc. when we were young. After installing the sub we tried it out and it didn't sound right, and then blew the 5 amp fuse.
So we went to Walmart for some fuses and when I got back I realized my friend had drilled 4 screws through the gelcoat on the side of my pristine boat!!!!
$470 later it has been repaired. The guy doing the repair did an excellent job of matching the black gelcoat and you cannot see where the damage was unless you are really looking.
This picture is of the 4 stews damage. They did not go all the way through rather they pushed out the gelcoat from the inside.
