It sounds like a problem with the power-assisted steering. Check your belt and pulley. I also suggest you jump over to the Chaparral Owners Forum at Yahoo. You'll find many people there familiar with your boat and engine, as well as links to owners and service manuals. Until it's fixed, I suggest you not use your boat. Locked steering at high speed is an accident waiting to happen. Don't. Hy
