It's been quite a long time since I've posted here on iBoats.

This time around I built an adjustable transom mount for my 9.9hp kicker. I probably would have spent less money purchasing one but I just thought it would be a fun project.

There's a link to a short video/slideshow of the build in my signature below.

I started with cutting the 8' 1.5" x 1.5" angle into four 6" pieces and four 12" pieces

Next I cut the 1/4" x 1" x 8' lengths of Aluminum into 10 12" lengths. Eight of the pieces had 1/4" holes drilled 1/2" on center from the ends.

Six 1/4" x 3/4" spacers are needed so I used the flat stock to make my own with the help of my new drill press. Using a 3/4" hole saw with a 1/4" bit made quick work of the process.

I repeated this step eight times to complete the main assembly. The 2" bolts pictured were all replaced with 1.5" bolts.

Next comes the plate for mounting the outboard. Eight 3/8" holes are drilled through the plate and eight 3/8" tee nuts are set in a recess 1/8" deep made with a 1.5" Forstner bit. This plate is 1.5" thick and made of Maple. (that's all I had laying around). I will be adding a 1/2" plastic plate to it to make it 2" thick,

Very nice depiction and narration of reinventing the wheel Impoted_Rick. I am in the market for a kicker motor mount also as it just seems silly and excess work to use a 125 hp motor to troll, lol. Great job and should give you extra pride that you built it yourself. Btw, I learned a valuable tip about using a forester bit to recess your t-nuts, good thinking.
