It seems that battery's short for the power. I can start the motor after I charged for 3 hours. Is it possible the alternator was bad? How can I check if the alternator is good or not?

Ayuh,..... When it's running, you should see 13.6 to 14 volts,.....

You need another motor, rather than wasting time, 'n money on this one,.....

I got 14.30 when motor is running at the speed of 1500rpm and even idle, it should be ok
