So it is NOT a pressurized tank.-----It is a non vented tank ( EPS mandated ) that builds pressure when exposed to heat

I did get my pump working. There is also an aerator down near the bottom or pump and I am not the best with the wiring but I got the pump to work off the dash switch but I can't find a switch for the I guess it's an aerator? I can get both workings if I put them directly to the battery but I need to find a switch or do you think the pump at the bottom auto kicks on when it gets wet? I will provide pics soon, ty for all your help.

Right, I do not know all the terms... again 55 and first boat and it definitley wasn't like a lot of people's new boats that do not need to know a bit to keep it floating and running.

I just meant in my world it seemed pressurized because it misshaped the tank and looked like it was about to explode.

Well, the 6 gallon tanks have a pressure that seems to build up in them as you pump the ball which does not let water into the tank. It bloats up and when you tighten the gas cap so to speak it clicks like your car does I figure to let you know you have it in the right place.

THis is something I found from the Atwa I bought on AMazon -

Question:

Does this portable fuel tank have a vent cap on it? Thanks

Answer:

Our 8806LP2 do not offer a vented cap.

Mine does not vent. On very hot days, the tank expands and gas leaks out. The only thing that helps is leaving the cap a bit loose.

As far as I know, the tank will inhale air as the fuel is consumed through a one way vent in the cap and on a hot day it "will" exhale to avoid an over-pressure, but it is not just open to let fumes out routinely.

IF it were me....

Replace throttle cable
Replace steering cable
**They were both underwater for extended period of time so water more than likely got between the cable and the sheath and the rusting process has started.

Review all livewell plumbing. From the description, a overflow drain was plugged/blocked/non-functional and it filled your boat quickly. May have also been the through hull fitting that the livewell pump uses to pull water in for your livewell.

Invest in a manual valve for inside your livewell so you can adjust the flow if needed - I only run mine full tilt to fill then trickle to keep water moving.

Depending on your dash, you may want to invest in a livewell timer instead of an on/off switch. This will cycle your livewell pump on whatever setting you choose.

Review/replace your bilge pump. In theory it should have kept up with the livewell pump (if this was the point of failure and not a plumbing issue) and you should have heard the discharge overboard. I suspect it isn't working or the line is disconnected. Cheap enough to replace. I'd get one with an automatic float so it kicks in when needed.

I learned this just the other day. Had a great idea, lets turn up this inlet valve for higher flow. Several minutes later noticed the water level higher than the exhaust pipe since it could not keep up to the circulation. If not adjusted back, it could easily start filling the boat
