Right, I do not know all the terms... again 55 and first boat and it definitley wasn't like a lot of people's new boats that do not need to know a bit to keep it floating and running. So it is NOT a pressurized tank.-----It is a non vented tank ( EPS mandated ) that builds pressure when exposed to heat
I just meant in my world it seemed pressurized because it misshaped the tank and looked like it was about to explode.Right, I do not know all the terms... again 55 and first boat and it definitley wasn't like a lot of people's new boats that do not need to know a bit to keep it floating and running.
Well, the 6 gallon tanks have a pressure that seems to build up in them as you pump the ball which does not let water into the tank. It bloats up and when you tighten the gas cap so to speak it clicks like your car does I figure to let you know you have it in the right place.
THis is something I found from the Atwa I bought on AMazon -
Question:
Does this portable fuel tank have a vent cap on it? Thanks
Answer:
Our 8806LP2 do not offer a vented cap.

Mine does not vent. On very hot days, the tank expands and gas leaks out. The only thing that helps is leaving the cap a bit loose.

As far as I know, the tank will inhale air as the fuel is consumed through a one way vent in the cap and on a hot day it "will" exhale to avoid an over-pressure, but it is not just open to let fumes out routinely.

it was under water for 4 hours and stopped dead sprint to a sink.If this boat has an outboard motor was it totally submerged ?------------If so the motor must be looked at and running within a few hrs !!!
I do, however almost have it running just needs more sun to dry it all out.it was under water for 4 hours and stopped dead sprint to a sink.
Invest in a manual valve for inside your livewell so you can adjust the flow if needed - I only run mine full tilt to fill then trickle to keep water moving.
