Been at this for 4 years, lost a leg so had to shelve it for a couple of years but am back on it it now, its a 1975 Stebercraft V Clinker 17 footer, they were built for heavy see, fine entry up front makes them not suitable for dicking around if you turn quickly you’ll know about it, but in a chop or heavy swell they thrive, mine was originally a volvo sterndrive I lost that converted to Outboard, these had floatation tanks I built, full railing, infloor 100 plus litre tank, the tank went Im building the huge cavity’s left inside into a big live bait tank, kill tank and cooler box, the outer flotation tanks and front under floor are being rebuilt now, I fitted new transom, floors will be new, its winter here now so no good for doing outside work, estimate another 2 years to finish, I want to make n fit a hardtop with full storm covers, rear marlin board on starboard side of transom to make entry easier for me with my gimpy leg, still need auxilliary engine bracket and general fit out, for her modest sizeshe will be the best fitted and safest boat around, its a shame to dirty my beautiful chrysler with two stroke soot and the grimes crud you get from sea water
