meh. tin leads to its own kind of itch...."more tin! must have more tin!"

Gammtka, i find SCs pretty regularly on PHX CL. there's a 16SS in Las Cruces NM right now but he wants too much.

She is a sharp looking rig and congrats on the splash. I can only dream about 70 degree weather here for quite a while. But we are used to getting our boats out and on the Great Lakes shortly after ice out.

Sounds good to me. It's nice to see a dealer/mechanic that really tests things instead of just throwing parts at it. Actually, he stopped you from throwing parts at it. :) I see she goes "under the knife" tomorrow. Has it warmed up enough for a Knotty Girl ride this weekend?

We call those guys that throw parts on things and hopes for the best just parts changers, not mechanics. A good mechanic methodically test, makes a diagnosis, and then repairs. I consider myself in the latter group.

Something caught my eye... The combo bow light is being blocked by the trolling motor mount. If you take the boat out at night that's going to be an issue as people approaching from starboard won't get a clear view of the "green" light, or it may be obscured from view all together.

Post mounted bow lights are available, or separate lights mounted on either side of the trolling motor would resolve the problem too.

These are cool lights:thumb:- that would fix the problem, still looks like a pretty good solution even if you never plan on being out at night.

only issue with those is you better be SURe you like em and want to live with em forever, since you'll be having to cut 2 holes in your hull to install. my Holiner came with a set of "docking" lights installed this way, and there's no way to remove em permanently without riveting or TIGing a patch over the holes.

I did find a 16 footer I had to buy. The admiral was all for it.

As I said in prior posts the 18' SS simply would not fit in my garage. As we leave it in Arizona for six months when we are back in Minnesota I could not see leaving it outside in the heat. Yikes.

Anyway, I found a 2001 16 foot Crestliner Angler tinny (has a side console)with a 40 horse Johnson with only 60 hours on it. I got it for a very good price and it is in excellent condition. Prior owner would tow it with a Suzuki Samurai. Fits in the garage perfect with plenty of room for our Town and Country too. We just got back from a boat ride on Lake Havasu and it runs great. It won't win any speed records, but it goes plenty fast for us.

I got the impeller replaced on the SS and also a gasket on the outdrive. It really isnt the time to be selling boats right now, but she is on CL.

WOW, that's a weird turn of events, but I think you're going to like the 16' Crestliner better. You're not going to be able to "load it up" like the SS, but that's a perfect rig for 2 people. The only downside would be if the wind kicked up and it got snotty on Havasu, but you can pick and choose your days.
