My 1993 mariner idles but stalls out in faster speed

My older mariner idles and starts well. When I put in in gear it revs well then stalls out. I need to know how to remove lower cowling so I can access the carb and check it out better. It is an 8 horsepower model.

Carb should come off the front without the cowling being renoved

Yeah. As above. Not too much involved in taking them off. Likely the issue. Float sticking or jet blocked. Check the fuel line, bulb and fittings too.

Thanks to everyone. Ordered a rebuild kit. Looks like primer pump is leaking. Will check float and jets for sure.
