my 1982 Johnson 90 hp v4 cannot idle more than 5 minutes even in water at boat ramp? I didn't have this problem last season. In the beginning of this season, I tore down my 2 carburetors (4 throats) and put them back and not sure whether I did the linkage correctly or not.
I tried to spray throttle body carb cleaner into the air intake behind the air silencer. But, still cannot idle more than 5 minutes.
Is there anything else I can do before I tear into the carb again? Maybe check the carb linkage? etc.
My kicker motor Honda 8 hp did idle forever when I test drove it last Friday which was a good thing and life saver from this Big Johnson 90. Not sure whether big Johnson 90 is too old to continue to live on???? LOL
