Moving gas tank up front, need longer fuel line

I was thinking of moving my 6 gal. metal fuel tank up front to better balance the load when I have rear seat passengers.

Where can I buy 5/16" ID single fuel line (for Johnson) by the foot, preferably online? I figure I'll need about 14 or 15' and all I've been able to find is the pre-assembled lines that are too short. I figure on just switching my fittings over.

Thanks, didn't see anything there I could use. One possible item is discontinued.

There's a local repair shop I can try, but I don't want to get "hosed" on the price. :) I need to know going in if their price is competitive.

any chance of locating the tank under the seat? Shifting weight of the tank up front seems to me to be a plus (as well as making more room), but I wonder if a 14 or 15 foot rubber line would have any operational issues. (Option might be to go to a metal line, maybe, unless the length itself is potentially an issue for, say, proper pump operation.) Just asking...

Just a thought. When running a fuel line that far it would be a good idea to go up in size to help keep the quantity flowing. Sore of like running electric wires for a long length. The resistance inside the fuel line will certainly slow down the flow rate some. Whether that will impact your need or not is something only you can tell...

Fuel line size is no different than for a car 14 ft run will present no problem for the rubber fuel line. Might take a few more squeezes on the bulb
