I have an 87 johnson 30hp that had mice in it. chewed up some of the cdi wires near the plug connection. Can i just cut out the plug and match up the wires, then wrap and waterproof the pile of wires? They chewed right at the plug so there is no wire left hanging out of the connector. Or is this repairable by repinning the plug connector? Or??

Re: mouse chewed wires

you can repair it by omitting the plug, just make sure you use heat shrink, solder and silicone to water proof it. replacing what was damaged is a better option tho. (why do mice love to eat wires?lol)

ditto what mwcove says. mice the the wire coating because it makes a great nesting material. I am in the telecom business and we have to replace alot of cable because the chew the PVC coating off. We have found several nest piled high with pvc shavings....lol
