I like the RED Line! The farther out the better!
Aligned with the contour of the hull, Not Level!

If you have even the slightest concern with the assumed added drag, consider that the outside chines are the first places to leave the water at high speeds.
You are going slower now because the Bow High attitude has you plowing and slamming the chop.
The Tabs will produce the Bow Down that you so desperately need. Allowing you to go even faster.

If you watch the video, it says to make sure the tabs are flush with your transom, not level. But it's your boat, you are free to mount them wherever you like.

Well here is my reasoning for not mounting them as others have suggested with them on the outside edge with the planing surface pointing inward.

I have never seen a boat with tabs mounted that way.
I have looked at what seems like 1000's of boat pics with tabs and none have them mounted that way and it does not feel right to me to have them mounted pointing inward as the red line would have me do in the pic.

The Yellow line seems correct to me from pics i have seen but they do seem to be to close in.
I have seen them mounted close to the center and out near the side. So i dunno.
I think the best thing to do is wait for the manufacture to email me back with the proper spot and i hope that will be tomorrow. If so i will let everyone know what the manufacture said.:loco:
Also the red line mounting would not allow me to get water flowing over them evenly from side to side.
The Yellow line allows me to get the water flow even on the center of the tab.

Ok so the big update.
Nauticus got back to me earlier today and they said mount them where the yellow line is so that is what i did.
Had the spring/shock part out at the 4th hole. Instantly on plane but slightly plowing water at 1/2 throttle
Went back to dock and set them at the 2nd hole. On plane in about 2 seconds with very little bow rise! and riding as smooth and normal as before with out the tabs at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle
Only had about 45 minutes and the lake was choppy so could not get very good test's but they seem to be working perfect.
The very short time i could go WoT seemed to be good with no loss of speed at all but it was choppy so ill know better when a better day comes around.
So far i think im going to really like them.

Thanks for all the suggestions and input guys!

Hey that's great news, glad they worked out for you :thumb:

Yeah my boat will plow the water too until I start trimming the outdrive up then it lifts the bow right off the water and you'll see at cruising speed there's only about 3 feet of boat in the water at the stern. I start trimming up as I accelerate and have figured out the sweet spot.

Trim is the whole problem!.
Love the Volvo Penta AQ280. Easy to work on, maintain and supposedly near bullet proof but the lack of trim makes me want to sell it.
If i did not just replace EVERYTHING! with new except engine/outdrive i would sell it for sure.
