I'm ready to mount my 90 Johnny on the back of my 18' Starcraft SS ! I've tried searching, but to no prevail. Is there "The Best Way" to mount your motor? I would like to have a few ideas going into this... 5200 everything?... Thanks !
Coat the holes with 5200, coat the upper parts of the bolts with 5200. Insert the bolts. Insert the steering tube! Line up the motor. Since I have the same boat and motor as you, I'd recommend starting with it mounted one set of hole up from the bottom. Get motor on the bolts and have a friend in the boat to help you tighten them up. Clean up the horrible 5200 mess.
Yea thanks ez. If I have it in one hole up from the bottom, my cav plate is 2" high of keel...? Maybe mine is different... I had to drill/patch the bottom hole, so I don't know if it had a merc on or what.. Got it hung tho. Do you torque them down or not? I'm getting really excited!!... Thanks
