Hello,

My motorguide pro 46 motor(1 year old) has lost speeds 1-4. Speed 5 is working fine. Well after looking around this week I figured the Rotary switch in the foot was the likely culprit. I ordered a new switch here on iboats (which I recieved in 3 days !Awesome!) and installed it last night. That didn't fix the problem.
Now I'm back to sqaure one and still have the same problem. The main reason I haven't taken it in to service is because the repair center told me 2-3 weeks. Any Ideas, help, input, and diagrams will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Justin

The switch didn't fix the problem because the switch is rarely the problem. the switch merely selects the circuit that "controls" the motor speed. That circuit is either a group of speed coils or an electronic circuit located in the motor housing itself. The fastest speed generally works because the speed control circuits are all bypassed and full 12 volts is applied directly to the motor.
