MOTOR WILL NOT TURN OVER

For no apparent reason our 200 hp. motor, Yr. 1998 mercury out board, would not start. <br /><br />a blown fuse in the motor was discovered, fuse was broken and could not be fully removed. <br />Parties on the boat, cut off the fuse and tried to direct wire without the fuse in place. <br /><br />Still no results. Motor will also not tilt raise. <br /><br />Any suggestions

Check your ground wires. Sounds like a dead short.

I think I would be rewiring a fuse into the circuit before hooking power back up. Do as studly suggested.
